Each academic month is segmented into 4 academic weeks. Students learn 8 stories per academic month and 2 stories per academic week. At the end of each academic month, the students are required to take a monthly test consisting of the 8 stories they learned. Core Course 1, or C1, is designed for students who have little to no experience with English.
Students may enter the school at any competency level. Each new student is required to take a placement test and have an interview. The purpose of the placement test and interview is to determine the student's English ability. The results of the test will determine the course level and placement of new students. Students are placed into levels based on their ability, not age. Each course level contains 48 animated stories - divided into six academic months.
