Children’s Grand Park is Not Only For Children!!
When I was still a boy, I was brought to this park and enjoyed there seeing animals and rides. Visiting there as an adult wouldn’t give you that impression any more but it’s still one of the greatest parks in Korea especially for children and family.
This Grand Park is located in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul near Children’s Grand Park station, line 7 and it has various facilities for your family such as a zoo, botanical garden and amusement rides, etc. I like this park because it’s not as busy as other popular amusement parks like Everland. So you can take a stroll at a quiet and peaceful park.
This is such a beautiful street to take a walk at the park.
You can also visit the botanical garden and see various plants and flowers inside.
This is what they call it, ‘The Country of Imagination’ and it is a junk art according to them.
Yes, every child loves to visit the zoo. They also provide marine animals’ exhibition.
You can also enjoy some rides and this is one of favorite rides at this park.
It is really convenient to take public transportation to get to this place. There’s a subway station with the same name of the park in line 7 and the other closest station is Achasan station in line 5. Of course it’s much crowded on the weekend and the entrance fee is free. But it’s still less busy compared to other popular amusement parks so if you would rather go to quiet places for amusement park and zoo, Children’s Grand Park could be the best choice.
Here’s some more information about this place.

Crossfit Fighting Spirit
Tired of just going to the gym and figuring out what to do? Tired of working out alone? Not getting much from your workouts? Want to try something new but old? Then try crossfit. Crossfit is an effective and efficient way to get physically and mentally fit. Anyone can do it from athletes to people who have never been to a gym. It is a fitness program that mixes a wide variety of functional movements into a workout that is timed or scored. Depending on the workout of the day it can include running outside, gymnastics, weightlifting, body movements such as pull-ups and push ups and many more. Since 2011, crossfit centers have been established all over South Korea. However there is one center that has been a pioneer, Crossfit Fighting Spirit. Many coaches who now own their own crossfit centers first started out as just a member or a coach at Fighting Spirit.
Located in the Gangnam area, close to Nonhyeon station line 7. This facility is spacious with many different types of fitness equipment, great people to workout with and coaches that have a lot of experience. Virtual Reality Experience for More Fantasies!!
Warning : Please note that the contents on this video can be disturbing to some people.
Most of you already know what VR means but many of you might not have experienced VR games yet. VR contents are becoming more popular among young people in Korea and I would say it’s just a matter of time until everyone enjoys VR. Once you try VR contents, you’re not going to stop it.
Check out this place. I was lucky enough to get some pictures. This place is located in the Gangnam area, Seoul. This place has become popular since it was introduced on a TV show. I have attached the link of the popular VR zombie game. Take a look at the video link above if you’re interested.
They have quite a big space for having VR players. It’s not easy to set up the VR equipment but I could see that they have installed high-end devices so players can play games without any errors.
Some spots provide very huge curved screens so we can watch them play in the back if you have some company.
This place also provides the zones for 2~4 multiplayers so you can enjoy VR games with your friends together. According to them, they’re the first VR room offering this service in the world. Believe it or not, ha.
In my case, I had a problem using VR contents. I always felt dizzy when I played VR games so I couldn’t keep playing longer than 30 minutes. Other than that I would have loved VR contents especially VR horror games. Actually I still do. One thing that I can tell you for sure is VR would be a totally different experience. When you play VR horror games, you’re going to feel yourself existing inside the games literally and you will realize it’s not just a game because everything is real in your head.

The Real Escape Challenge!!
One of my close friends strongly recommended me to try an escape room café since he knows that I like things related to horror. He said that it’s very popular in Korea among young crowd and it sounded very interesting. I tried to locate one of them near my house and visited the website. And I realized that it wasn’t easy to get real pictures on the internet because photography is strictly prohibited.
The one that I plan to visit is located near Konkuk University Station, the green line and I could take some screen shots with permission. Basically you’re going to have to choose one challenge and make a reservation. They have 8 different themes and some are very scary. Once you get in, you have to start following the clues as much as you can and solve the puzzles to escape the room within 60 minutes. Sounds very interesting, right?
Unfortunately, their service doesn’t provide English so I would suggest you should bring someone to help you with this challenge. I can tell that it won’t be easy to escape the room if you go by yourself. There should be at least 2 or 3 if possible so you can work together.
The Notice says, firstly you should be there at least 10 mins before the time and get some guidelines. You shouldn’t share the info with someone that hasn’t experienced the challenge yet. No photos allowed and you shouldn’t carry dangerous items inside such as lighters, knives and etc.
Like I stated above, they provide 8 different challenges with different stories and Story 3 and 5 are the most tempting ones to me. Because they’re the scary ones.
They charge you differently based on the total number of participants. If there’s 2 people, they charge you 22,000 KRW for each, total 44,000. If there’s 3 people, it should be 20,000 KRW for each. And they can accept 6 people maximum with 18,000 KRW for each.
I know some people don’t like scary things and some of you might not like to be stuck in one place. What I can tell you is that this can be a very unique and different experience to most people including me. And if you’re a big fan of horror movies or horror games, it’s definitely worth trying this challenge.
Here’s some more information about the place that I have found if you’re interested.

Seoul Lantern Festival Is Coming Back!
Have you heard of ‘Seoul Lantern Festival’? Every year in November, they hold this Festival in the Cheonggye area which is called ‘Seoul Bit Chorong Festival’ which means Seoul Lantern Festival. Every year nearly 3 million visitors can expect to see lanterns along the 1.3 km Cheonggyecheon Stream with various things to see stretching all the way from Cheonggye Plaza and Supyogyo Bridge.
It was the 10th anniversary last year and I could see the huge lanterns with the shapes of many different figures. It was my first visit and it was very amazing to see them there. And now it’s coming back in November.
It was quite a long line along the stream. It looked like a parade with bright figures in the dark.
I really loved this figure. Some of you might tell what this is. It is called Taekwon V and it’s a very classic and popular robotic hero in Korean animation series. Yes, if you recognize this, you must be old enough.
This one stands for the current trend of culture in Korea. The title of this work is ‘Street Performance’. You can see a lot of young people perform on the street in the Hongdae area.
I’m pretty sure that visiting here will give you beautiful memories in Korea, especially to lovers and family. Whether you’re new to Korea or not, just go ahead. It starts in November this year again.
Here’s some more information about the festival of this year. Yes, I’m planning to visit there again.

EVERLAND, the Largest Theme Park in Korea
It’s been like forever since I visited Everland but I feel obligated that I have to introduce Everland since it’s a representative amusement park in Korea. I was told that they have 7.3 million visitors annually. Can you imagine that? Yes, it is HUGE.
Everland is divided into 5 zones, Global Fair for foods and souvenirs, Magic Land for rides, Zootopia for animal petting, American Adventure for western themed rides, and European Adventure for rides and restaurants with European architecture.
Rolling X-Train is quite a typical roller coaster but it’s really thrilling. You’ll probably feel dizzy and when you ride it because it keeps rolling.
T-Express is the first wooden constructed roller coaster in Korea. They said that it’s the 6th longest wooden coaster in the world with 1,770m length and it’s literally terrifying to ride it.
This is the Safari World and I always enjoyed riding a shuttle for watching animals like tigers, lions, ligers and many others. You’ll be riding a shuttle getting through those animals.
I can say that Everland is one of the top places you need to visit if you’re in Korea. If you like rides and thrill, you must get to this place for various exciting experiences.
Check the information if you’re interested. No, you don't have to be interested. You should just GO there.
